Activation Instructions:

Artists can become certified directly in the TikTok app from their mobile device by following this link. Please note that this process will not work on desktop. The approval process takes approximately 7-10 days.

What is “By Artist”?:

Artists can pin their own videos or a video of their choice in the first/second slot on the music detail page using the ‘By Artist’ feature.

What is the Music Tab?:

The TikTok Music Tab, marked by the music symbol, automatically showcases an artist’s delivered music upon activation. To be eligible, artists must be certified and have delivered three tracks through the TikTok supply chain. Certification is required to access the Music Tab, where artists can also pin their latest releases to the top.

What are New Release and Artist Tags?:

The ‘Artist’ tag, activated with an ‘Artist Account,’ uniquely identifies musicians to users and potential fans on the platform. It is automatically applied when the artist is certified, has an active Music Tab, and has delivered three or more tracks to TikTok through the supply chain.

The ‘New Release’ tag serves to spotlight and promote artists’ latest music, featuring a ‘New’ tag on videos containing their most recent release. This tag also appears on the music detail page of the artists’ latest release and other releases.
