At Cygnus Music, your safety and security is a priority. To further fortify the protection of your accounts we now use Two-Factor Authentication (2FA). This provides an advanced layer of protection along with your username and password.

What is 2FA

2FA is a security authentication that provides an extra layer of protection for online accounts and systems. It works by requiring you to present two distinct forms of verification when logging in. This additional layer of security significantly reduces the risk of unauthorised access.

Logging in with 2FA

To login to your account using Two Factor Authentication, simply follow the process below. First, you’ll have to enter your username and password, which serve as the initial factor. Then, you’ll have to provide a second factor, which will be generated by an authentication app. We recommend using either Google Authenticator or Authy which are free to download via an app store.

Follow the steps below to access your account.

Google Authenticator and Authy

Select Google Authenticator or Authy: During the 2FA setup, the Cygnus Music login page will provide you with a unique QR code that you can use with either Google Authenticator or Authy. You can choose to use one of the two apps. If you haven’t installed either one, you’ll have to.

Using Google Authenticator

If you choose Google Authenticator, install the app from your device’s app store if you haven’t already. Open Google Authenticator and tap the “+” button to add an account. Scan the QR code provided by the website during the 2FA setup, or manually enter the setup key if that’s an option. Google Authenticator will generate 6-digit one-time codes for that account, and you can use the current code for login when prompted.

Using Authy

If you choose Authy, install the Authy app from your device’s app store or use the Authy desktop app. Open Authy and tap the “Add Account” button. Scan the QR code provided by the website during the 2FA setup or enter the setup key. Secure YourApp

Whichever app you choose, make sure to secure it with a PIN, password, or biometric authentication to prevent unauthorised access.

Recovery Options

Both Google Authenticator and Authy often provide recovery options to regain access to your 2FA codes if you lose your device or encounter issues. Make sure to explore and set up these recovery options.

Login with 2FA

After successfully setting up 2FA with your chosen app, when you want to sign in to the website, you’ll open the app, find the account associated with that site, and use the current 6-digit code generated by the app for login.

FAQ’s / Resetting 2FA

I need Cygnus Music to reset my 2FA or password.

Send an email to [email protected], it must;

Be emailed from the email registered to your label account.
Contain a clear photo of you holding up your passport so we can see both your face and passport information.
Include the phone number that your account was set up with.
Include the company address which your account is registered with us.
Include your most recent payment amount received by Cygnus Music.
