Threads is a new freely downloadable app that has caused quite a stir recently. It\u2019s a text-based conversation platform developed by Meta. According to Meta’s description, Threads is specifically designed to serve as a hub where communities gather to engage in discussions that can range from current topics to upcoming trends. <\/span><\/p>\n

The app offers the opportunity to connect with creators and individuals who share similar passions, creating loyal fan bases across the app.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n \t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\n <\/div>\n \n <\/div>\n \n\t\t\t\n\t\t\n\t\t\t

In the music industry heavy hitters such as <\/span>Jay B, keshi, Olivia Rodrigo<\/b> and <\/span>Yuna<\/b> (to name a few) have joined the app. Alongside that, 10 million people signed up for Threads in the first 7 hours, so it\u2019s certainly a platform that marketeers are looking at. But why should you be on it? It\u2019s basically Twitter, right?\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Well, yeah. There\u2019s a few differences such as posts that can be 500 characters long (rather than the 280 for Twitter users) and videos of up to five minutes in length can be posted. It also states that the app will have a key focus on Trends & Topics. Though, in general, the concept is exactly the same. However, it\u2019s not necessarily about the functions of the app that make it useful for a musician to join. It\u2019s about the volume of eyes you can get on your music.
